Paris Fashion Week – another early start catching the 4.30 train to London to meet Mark and Federico at St Pancras so we can all catch the Eurostar to Paris.
I’m excited! It is the first time I have been on the Eurostar and the first time I have been to Paris. Check in is super-fast, so we are straight through with time to grab some breakfast then get on the train and relax, because when we arrive we need to check in to our hotel, sort a kit bag out and get straight off to do the test for the show.
We arrive in Paris and our driver is waiting to take us straight to the hotel. We go through the products we have had sent from London and as always with any test, we have to take one of everything because we never know what we are doing ‘til we have met with the stylist and seen the brief.
After getting a cab through the crazy streets of Paris, where there are no road rules, we arrive at our location and it is a magnificent 16th century sort of converted church is how I would explain it, with beautiful architecture.
Each test and show is different and it always make it tricky because you need to adapt your personality to be able to gel with the designers and stylist, so you get the look they are looking for.
We are given the brief on the look they want – a dried-out, sun-kissed look, just got-out-of-bed effect . It sounds easy, but can be very tricky as you can’t do too much, but you can’t do too little.
The test goes very well and everyone is happy. We find a nice French restaurant, grab some food and then head back to the hotel for a early night as we have a 7am call for the show.
We get picked up at 6.30 and head to the venue. Once we arrive me and Federico get set up as we have 30 models to do.
Then the rest of the team arrive and we get started on the models, it is a relaxed atmosphere again, Â so after a couple of hours we have finished the hair and the show goes live.
We pack up head back to the train station and after six hours travelling I’m back home from anther great show in Paris.
